| EOS standard
data products are data sets
produced at various EOS data processing centers and derived from EOS
instruments.
Each EOS intrument
team is responsible for developing and maintaining science
software to produce a number of standard data products derived from their
instrument.
Over 200 standard data products will be produced and archived at the Data Active Archive Centers comprising the EOSDIS. All of these standard data products will be available to users. These standard data products will contain a wide range of physical, geophysical, and biochemical parameters and will be available in a number of product levels versions. | Examples of some of these
EOS standard data products are: - Sea surface temperature - Oceanic chlorophyll - Cloud cover and associated properties - Cloud and surface radiant flux - Distribution and variability of lightning - Profiles of tropospheric carbon monoxide - Vegetation indices - Land cover type The scientific algorithms used to produce EOS standard data products undergo a peer review process. Algorithm Theoretical Basis Documents represent the formal mechanism for peer review. These documents will be made available to potential users of EOS standard data products. |
